ENLIGHTENMENT PRAYER

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. My God, I firmly believe that Thou art everywhere present and seest all things...cleanse my heart from all vain, wicked, and distracting thoughts. Enlighten my understanding, and inflame my will, that I may pray with reverence, attention, and devotion.

REFLECTION

"Let Him stand for you as a defender, as a good shepherd, lest the fierce wolves assault you."
Saint Ambrose

Reflect on the quote for a while
What does it mean to you?
Sit quietly and consider this:
How can you rely more on Jesus as your defender today?

THANKSGIVING PRAYER

Almighty and eternal God, I adore Thee, and I thank Thee for all the benefits which Thou, in Thy infinite goodness and mercy, hast conferred upon me.

RESOLUTION

Based on this reflection, I resolve to avoid all sin, but especially: Pride

And here is a related quote from the Shepherd of Hermas: “if you do not wish to do that which is evil, fear the Lord, and you will not do it; but, again, if you wish to do that which is good, fear the Lord, and you will do it. Wherefore the fear of the Lord is strong, and great, and glorious. Fear, then, the Lord, and you will live to Him, and as many as fear Him and keep His commandments will live to God.”

RESOLUTION PRAYER

My God, I offer Thee these resolutions; unless Thou deignest to bless them, I can not be faithful to them. I beseech Thee most earnestly to bless me, that I may serve Thee faithfully this day by a perfect devotedness to all my duties and a steadfast adherence to all my promises and good resolutions. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thank You and God Bless +
